Infernal Dawn is the first full-length album from SINISTRUM, and it gives Death metal plenty of thrashy and epic twists! It will be Morbid and Miserable Records’ first release of 2024.

Emerging from the most vile and foreboding parts of Kentucky, Sinistrum comes wielding their ruthless craft. Although the band itself is new, its members have a proven history in the world of extreme metal, having demonstrated their prowess in Abominant, Fornicus, Blood Curse, Coffin Stench, and more. After teasing the world in 2022 with their Trichotomy of Death demo EP, Sinistrum has focused their killer fury into their first full-length album: Infernal Dawn. Infernal Dawn features 10 tracks of sharp and biting death metal meant to get your blood boiling and have you seeing red. However, it is also packed with a number of epic and melodic twists that hone that rage into something grand and grotesque. On February 2nd the album will be released digitally, on cassette tape by Morbid and Miserable Records, and on CD by Adirondack Black Mass. A vinyl edition will also be produced by Adirondack Black Mass at a later date. In the meantime, a lyric video has been released for the title track so that all may sample its monstrous glory. Take heed and be prepared for the incoming death metal storm.

Vocalist Scott Briggs comments on the recording process: “…I have a small recording studio. Had the guys track everything live then dub in additional guitar tracks, fix fuck ups, etc. and I tracked my vocals at home. The drums are pretty much single takes, I don’t remember doing any punch-ins for that. Craig is old-school, haha…”

Scott continues expanding about the band’s devotion to metal and lyrical concept: “… 3/5 of us are just crusty metal veterans fueled by beer and the daily grind. Myself and Garrett are on our way to crusty status, more me. So far (Garrett is Craig’s son so he’s pretty young still). But yeah, we all love riffs and death metal. I wouldn’t say I have an overall theme. Just get an idea and run with it which can come from a show, video game, book…whatever…”

Even though the band is about to release an album, there’s more in the stove, Scott reveals: “… 5 or 6 songs are already pretty well written musically for the next album. So, the rest of the guys will continue writing together (I’ll get a demo recording to write lyrics to). Beyond that, the occasional regional show…”
