I remember when we started back in 1999 that the Finnish scene was always the carrier of countless bands that denoted quality in almost all styles of metal music. I remember asking someone in an interview about the water they drank in Finland, because the number of metal bands per number of inhabitants is really impressive.

AS THE SUN FALLS takes me back to that past where MOONSORROW practically debuted and we reviewed Sudden Uni in our poorly xeroxed black and white pages. AS THE SUN FALLS has just released the third album under the active and professional Polish label Theogonia Records. The four-piece is a practitioner of that melodic Death metal made in Finland; you would have to listen to them to realize what I am talking about. Although you may find nostalgic feelings of bands that marked the past in Finland, and I don't want to mention names so as not to mislabel them, AS THE SUN FALLS, is walking a solid and own path.

I'd like to stop for a second at the label company that is licensing the album so that every time you see any material released by Chrys from Theogonia Records, you stop your march and run to check it out. Chrys, in my opinion, is into music because passion drives his instincts, and honestly, all the material I've had access to from Theogonia Records has been mind-blowing and with very deep-rooted old school traces.

It's been a long time since Scriptorium wrote about a band, but this third installment of AS THE SUN FALLS deserves it. Right now, I am very influenced by writing these lines while the music reverberates on the walls of this medieval lodge. For those of you who have always followed Scriptorium, you know that it has been a long time since I touched these keys. The other Warrior Monk is doing better, and the Scriptorium is playing a very important role. Recuerdo cuando comenzamos allá por los anos 1999 que la escena finlandesa siempre era portadora de innumerables agrupaciones que denotaban calidad en casi todos los estilos del metal. Recuerdo haberle preguntado a alguien en una entrevista por el agua que tomaban en Finlandia, porque realmente es impresionante el numero de cantidad de bandas de metal por cantidad de habitantes.

AS THE SUN FALLS me lleva a ese pasado donde MOONSORROW prácticamente debutada y reseñábamos Sudden Uni en nuestras paginas en blanco y negro mal fotocopiadas. AS THE SUN FALLS acaba de sacar el tercer álbum bajo la activa y profesional productora polaca Theogonia Records. El cuarteto es practicante de ese Death metal melódico a lo made in Finland, tendrían que escucharlos para que se den cuenta de lo que les hablo. A pesar de que puedes encontrarte con nostálgicos sentimientos de bandas que marcaron un pasado en Finlandia, y no quiero mencionar nombre para no mal etiquetarlos, AS THE SUN FALLS, esta recorriendo un sólido y propio camino.

Me gustaría detenerme un segundo en su productora que está licenciando el disco para que cada vez que vean algún material sacado por Chrys de Theogonia Records, detengan y la marcha y vayan corriendo a chequearlo. Chrys, en mi opinión, esta en esto de la música porque la pasión mueve sus instintos, y sinceramente, a todo el material que he tenido acceso de Theogonia Records ha sido mindblowing y con unos tintes old school muy arraigados.

Hace mucho que Scriptorium no escribía sobre una banda, pero esta tercera entrega de AS THE SUN FALLS lo amerita. Ahora mismo me influencia mucho estar escribiendo estas líneas mientras retumba la música en las paredes de este aposento medieval. Para los que siempre han seguido Scriptorium, saben que hacía mucho tiempo que no tocaba estas teclas. El otro monje guerrero va avanzando y el Scriptorium esta jugando un papel muy importante.
