1. When and where was the band founded or what year did it originate and by who?

“ELECTRIC VENGEANCE was founded in June 2007 by me, Trey Lunabomber, and my brother, Bran Damage in our hometown of Grand Prairie, Texas.”

2. Where is the band's city now?

“Still sleazing around in Grand Prairie, "The Armpit of DFW." Our heads are still jammed in that sweaty armpit and getting noogies!”

3. How would you describe the music you typically create?

“I think it's best described as real. Everything we write is from the heart. We feel it in our blood and guts and it spews out. From every word, to the song structure, and last guitar note, we must be happy with the song at the end of the day or it's reworked or shelved. We're also very much into our songs having hooks and catchy choruses, not just riff after riff that goes nowhere. We aim to write memorable songs, not to bore the listener with chops and prowess. Our approach is analytical, but at the same time raw and visceral so we don't lose any spontaneity or substance by overthinking it. Honing-in that extreme balance is the challenge of the craft. We write cathartically as artists and appreciate everyone who enjoys what we put out there!”

4. For those of us seeking identification through music, is there a certain message you are trying to portray?

“We write about real-life experiences such as in the case of ''Slaughter Thy Neighbor", to murder fantasies we dream up in "Blood Spatter Redecorator" and ''Graphic Traffic'', to historical and True Crime events as relayed in ''The Five Points'' and ''Graffiti Plea.'' Most of our songs commonly have an unsettling or violent theme in their lyrics with a lot of little zingers we find hilarious, which we attempt to compliment instrumentally to set the mood and tone. But in all cases, our goal is to write songs in an effective, sticks-with-you kind of way, and more often than not, people are able to relate to them. I mean, who hasn't been driven insane by their dumb fucking cunt neighbor to the point of plotting her death and making it look like a suicide? Pretty relatable to me! lol. If Psychological Horror and Thrash Metal had offspring, then ELECTRIC VENGEANCE would be their bastard sons.”

5. Where all has the band performed?

“We've performed all over Texas, as well as Oklahoma and Louisiana. We're always open to playing just about anywhere if the show is right and our personal obligations permit!”

6. Tell us what it was like sharing a stage with legendary DRI?

“It was amazing as always! We've supported DRI eleven times since 2009 for their Dallas, Oklahoma City, and Abilene tour dates. We've developed a great rapport with them over the years and were even referred to by Spike as DRI's "preferred opener" for their Dallas show last December.”

7. How has your LP “Dehumanize” been as an introduction to the world for Electric Vengeance?

“It's gone over great! We've received wonderful feedback from our fans. I feel Dehumanize really encapsulates the dark side of humanity that we were exploring at the time and endeavored to expound creatively. It was a step up musically and lyrically for us as well I believe, which we're always aiming to do. We always strive to top the last song or album we write and challenge ourselves to push the envelope. Personally, I feel it's our best work to date!”

8. What kind of enthusiasm can we expect from Electric Vengeance on stage March 8 at the Haltom?

“Ravenous, bloodthirsty, irate, unhinged, adrenaline-overdosed, unbridled enthusiasm! We've performed for nearly 17 years and we're as hungry as we were on Day One. We started playing as youngsters, so as we approach old-fart age, we have to remain conscious of Thrash being youthful music and to match its intensity with our performance. Stage presence is important and in turn, the enthusiasm exhibited on stage excites the audience and keeps them engaged. Gotta go hard or go home!”

9. Can you give us a description of your single “Oh, Elena” and what encouraged the lyrics?

“Bran wrote "Oh, Elena'' based on the true story of necrophile and body snatcher Carl Tanzler, who fancied himself as "Count Carl von Cosel." He fell in love with a woman named Elena Hoyos which developed into a psychotic obsession. After Elena died in his care while trying to cure her from tuberculosis, he stole her body from her mausoleum and attempted to preserve it at his home by restructuring her face with plaster, connecting her bones with piano wire, and other primitive methods. He would sing love songs to her corpse as she decomposed. A very bizarre romance and an awesome contribution completely written by Bran.”

ELECTRIC VENGEANCE Encouragement For Fellow Musicians:

“Play as much as you can, wherever you can, and don't give a fuck! Concentrate on the meaning of each song and what you're trying to convey -- it'll come out better in your performance. Be professional and cool to your band peers and venue staff. Take a deep breath, stay hydrated, lay off the hooch and other shit, eat well for energy, and recover gracefully and be self-forgiving if you fuck up playing live, because it'll happen! Practice self-care physically and mentally for longevity.”

More Importantly, For Their Fans:

“We appreciate you all! Thank you for 16 years of support, buying our merch and CD's, attending our shows, and for the countless awesome times! Much gratitude! We look forward to seeing you Friday, March 8th at The Haltom. Keep It Electric!”

A Deeper Look Into ELECTRIC VENGEANCE -

“Our style is primarily rooted in NWOBHM, Thrash Metal, and Punk Rock. We describe the combination as Street Metal. We've always been big fans of the Metallica album, Ride the Lightning, and the electric chair imagery on the album cover inspired us to use the word 'electric' in our name. We liked the energy it emulated, and felt it matched the aggression of the NWOBHM style we were leaning towards in the early days. I was also listening to a lot of Venom at the time and was really stuck on the song, 'Vengeance' from their album, Resurrection. Bran and I decided to combine both words, and Electric Vengeance came to be. We also intended our name as a statement for the electric chair: an electric form of vengeance reserved for capital punishment. Our band name led to us creating a character spin-off called Electric Harry with an ominous backstory: Electric Harry was wrongfully accused of murder by a group of emo posers and was convicted and executed in the electric chair, only to be resurrected from the grave to avenge his death and to eradicate the mainstream. Soon after, we wrote a song called 'Electric Harry' elucidating the backstory and Electric Harry became our de facto mascot and demigod. The song was featured on our first LP, Manic Possession.”
