MORGUE TERROR
MORGUE TERROR: Horror-themed Death Metal from Buffalo, NY
Zoheb M. & Qabar PR
Horror-themed death metal act Morgue Terror will drop their self-titled EP on 05 January 2024.
Morgue Terror is a death metal band from the cold, snowy city of Buffalo, New York, the city that gave birth to legendary bands such as Cannibal Corpse, Malevolent Creation, and Baphomet. Comprising Dave and Steve, the duo shares a mutual passion for extreme metal, which in turn led to the creation of Morgue Terror.
Vowed to create something fresh, Morgue Terror refuses to stick to a single style of death metal. One part old school, one part slam, one part dissonant, and basically anything in between that encompasses the genre, their music caters to a diverse range of death metal enthusiasts. The duo strives to offer a distinct listening experience, bereft of repetition.
An aficionado of horror movies, particularly the older flicks, Dave had not found any characters comparable to his favorite Freddy Krueger until 2022, when he watched the first Terrifier movie. Although a little late to discover the slasher film, he was immediately enthralled by Art the Clown, the main antagonist of the Terrifier franchise, and his obsession grew further with the second movie of the series, which arrived in the same year. Art the Clown and the Terrifier franchise left an indelible mark on Morgue Terror and their music. In fact, the band moniker is derived from a pivotal scene at the end of the first movie when Art the Clown emerges from a body bag, delivering a fatal blow to the coroner.
This thematic inspiration extends to their upcoming self-titled EP, which delves into the murders and characters portrayed in both Terrifier movies, having a cover art depicting the notorious clown itself. The opening two tracks of the EP feature guitar solos from Brian Mason (Contrarian, Sulaco, and CHRMR).
